I made a new page last night for my blog using the LifeStream plugin. It brings together information from a couple of social networking sites I use.

Hmm, I don’t really have any “bahuma.net” news but I got sick of seeing my trip back to Australia news on the front page
One thing I did discover today is that Ellen’s Gallery is almost 2gig now and mine is < 300 megs! Must be time to upload some pictures.
In the last couple of weeks I have been working on getting my US Drivers Licence (spelt License over here). I got my learners on the 24th of May and I did the driving test today. I got a perfect score! It is nice to be official and it allows me to drive work vehicles as I am now covered on the insurance.. Woohoo!
When I was down in Tas, i got addicted to Uno
. I found a flash version today on the net. Tis fun! Grab it here

The work week is now over and the weekend begins. A few things have happened this week to make things interesting. Today I put down the initial deposit on a place of my own to rent. It is close to work (around 2 miles!) and is in a nice area. I am planning to sign the lease on and start the move in process on Tuesday!
Ian left for Australia today. He is going back for around a month to get his Visa sorted out. I also learnt today that in order to obtain a drivers licence in PA, I have to get a learners permit. So I will have to go and do the written test to obtain that and then a few days later I will try for my real licence – what a pain in the bum!
My social security number still hasn’t arrived (not that it should have come by now) so I still don’t have a bank or anything yet so hopefully it comes next week!
It looks like I will have at least one day in the field next week using the TM-6 to look for drums about 2 hours away from here.
Anyways, thats it for now, cu!
I am back and it is great to be here
After my initial flight problems, I must say that the remainder of my flights were pretty good.
The international leg was as good as it could be. The plane was pretty much booked out but somehow 1out of the 3 free seats, there was one spare between me and the guy next to me. After dosing up on Benadryl, it was off to the land of nod. I got a fair bit of sleep on the plane.
Brisbane was good. I caught up with the people from Gap as well as Kev and Emma. Geni and the kids were also well. I can’t believe how much they have grown up!!!(!!)
The flight into Tassie was lumpy with the pilot all over the place on final approach. It was obvious why after we landed with the menacing storm clouds and associated winds.
Anyways, hope to catch up with everyone while I am down

Over the last week I have been working down in Pensacola, Florida. I have been part of a team of 3 that has been using the TM-6 Mag to help locate some buried items. It has been great to be out and about. It has all gone pretty well with the DGM finishing on schedule and only some data processing remaining.
The weather change has been great. It has been in the 20′s most days which is a big improvement over Hershey. We are currently due to fly out tomorrow evening so back to the office on Monday…
I would like to take this oppurtunity to wish everyone, especially my friends and family, a happy and safe Christmas.
This year has been a strange one for me. I have spent 9 months here in the USA working which has been challenging and rewarding at the same time.
This will be my first White Christmas. I call it white but it is more an off-white to grey slush now as we have had warmer (3-6 degrees!
) in the last week or so.
Anyway, stay safe and all the best for 2006!
Yesterday I was bitching about the weather but today I am all smiles
I headed down to the pub for some dinner and bevvies and when I went to leave, it was snowing!
I took some pictures on Sunday morning and I have uploaded them to gallery. I also took some video and I will put that up shortly
I am now very happy with my new down jacket I bought last week.
I was going to start this blog off by saying “It’s December Already, where has the year gone?” but f**k, doesn’t that just sound dead boring? I think it does
Anyway, I will start this blog saying that Winter is here. Some of the nights (and days here) have been freezing!
Work has been going along OK. We are still very busy with our large project in Colorado. I tell you what, I will be happy when it is all done as we have been working on it since early September. A few of us did take time off to go to the SERDP and ESTCP conference in Washington DC on Wednesday. I had never been to Washington before so it was good to see some of the city. The conference covered things such as regulations for base cleanups, technologies and new developments. It was pretty interesting and a chance to meet some more people from the industry.
I mentioned a few Blogs ago how Kate and Andrew are getting married. I have asked the boss and I have the all clear to have some time off in Feb to go to the wedding.. It is going to be a blast! I am definetly going to bring my Video Camera
It is only a bit over 2 months away!
