Day off :-)

Lying in bed on Wednesday morning knowing you don’t have to go to work is a lovely feeling. The problem with the feeling is that it occurred about an hour or two earlier than I would have liked.

I got back from Canada on Sunday night. My bag got back from Canada Monday night. The trip up there was good. I did not get to see much of the countryside since I spent all of my time working but it was still nice to go. The project I went up there for is progressing, all be it slowly. My task for this project is to head up the data processing. Things are still ramping up on site so the test on my end is still to come.

My mission for the day was to get my eyes tested so I can stock up on contact lenses. I figured that since I was out, I should try out my shiny health care card. After going to three different optometrists, I can say that it is a strong trend that optometrist don’t work Wednesdays… I then figured that I would just pop into walmart on the way home and pickup some more contacts based upon my old contact lenses boxes. It turns out that they cannot sell them without a note from your doctor with the prescription.. oh well, I will try again another day.

I am sad to say that my free amazon prime trial ran out on Monday. Gone are the days of free 2 day shipping.. It is a nice service but I certainly cannot justify the $80 a year they want for it. You would have to be a really heavy user – probably of their new grocery service I guess.

Well, thats it for me! Toodley pipsky

Rainy Saturday

Filed under: General — Chris Parker @ 08:23

Ahhh, the weekend… Thankyou for blessing me with your presence! It is a lovely (and I am not being sarcastic) rainy day.. I was just looking online to see if I could see how many inches of rain we have had. I noticed on WeatherUnderground that today’s forecast included “100% chance of precipitation”… I think they should change it to say, ”It’s gunna rain!” :-)

I have spent the day around the house cleaning and such. My bathroom is now in much better shape.

For the last two weeks, I have been processing data for a new client which has been going OK. It looks like busy season is almost upon us with two jobs starting the week of September 11 and several more good size ones on the cards. As is currently stands, I am going to Canada mid September for a week so I am really looking forward to that!

One thing I have been enjoying lately is Pandora. It is a free music website that allows you to type in an artist and it will generate a radio station just for you based upon similar songs to that artist. It has been around for almost a year but I can’t believe I missed the earlier hype about it.

Last but not least, I am still working on the new main bahuma.net website. The current design has been up for 2 years now and I think it is well overdue for the change. The new launch is still quite a while away…but you never know…
