bahuma: the blog

I wish I had a good reason to blog but I don’t. Our family cat of over 16 years died this week. She was old and I know it was her time but that does not make it any easier. She died in her sleep on Ellen’s pillow. I miss you minnie.

I think I just went the longest time between blogs since I started blogging back in 2003. A lot has happened in the last month, some of it good, some of it bad.

Last week I got some really sad news. One of my neighbours kids was killed in an awful car accident in Tasmania. She was 19 and on her way back from Launceston. I am not going to mention names (cause google will more than likely find it) but you would only have to pick up a Tasmanian news paper to figure it out. The funeral was this week and the Church was packed. I am sure the service was lovely. Things like this make you wonder and realise how trivial some things really are.

On a lighter note I have been and come back from Denver. The project out there has started up really well and we are well ahead (yes ahead!) of schedule. We are actually a bit far ahead and it is causing planning problems  The weather really varied out there with snow on the first day of DGM to beautiful sunny weather at the end of the week. Unfortunately I did not get a good look around Denver as my bill rate was over 190% which did not leave much time for anything else.

We are currently bidding to try and win some work in Flagstaff Arizona. It is only a small job but it would be a real buzz if I managed to get back there. Next week I have a couple of days away, this time in Virginia. We are heading back to a site I spent 3-4 weeks at last year.

I am now a big step closer to being finally settled here in the US. My social security number came while I was away finally and I have already used it to secure myself a credit card which is working nicely I signed up for a trial of Yahoo! Music which is pretty good. I am trying to decide if I should keep it or not.. I probably will

 Anyways, maybe next time I will blog sooner.
