Hey ho!
Lowry is scheduled to start in early September now and my role has changed from onsite data manager to a towed array data manager in Hershey. I will be responsible for looking after 1 towed arrays worth of data for the duration of the project…
Ian and I went to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire on Saturday which was pretty cool. The theme of the day was pirates so there were a stack of people dressed up… I saw all sorts of shows from singing to comedy. One of my favorites was glass blowing where they made a flask from scratch.. I have piccies so I will post them when I remember to bring them into work..
I have started to collect state quarters here in the US. From 1999 they have been releasing 5 quarters a year so there is a total of 33 released to date – I have 24 of these
Thats about it, hope all is well back home!
Oops, 10 days between blogs
Anyways…. I have just come back from a GPO in Hinhgam, MA. I drove up last Sunday and returned last night.
We turned up on the site on Monday and it was not ready.. the brushcutting was still going on and the land surveyor had not turned up… Things started happening on Tuesday once the surveyor had finished. We ran an EM-61 and a G-858 Mag system over the grid so we could compare the 2 technologies… We tied both instruments to an Leica 1200 RTS which worked ok, but the data had some gaps due to the ~50 trees in the grid.
We wrapped up on Friday morning from where I drove back down to Hershey.. It looks like I will be here for a week or two before leaving for Lowry.
You can now check out and review my location! I will try and keep it up to date… I think I might tinker with some other parts of the site too so keep an eye out for changes
It’s finally happening.. Lowry is on! We will be heading out to Colorado somewhere between August 15th-25th depending on what happens in the next few days! There is a bit of prep to do so things are about to get busy.
It also looks like I am going to Massachusetts again to a different site some time next week to do a Mag GPO… when it rains it pours
