Memorial Day Weekend

Filed under: General — Chris Parker @ 03:57

Memorial day weekend has been a pretty good one :-) As mentioned in the previous post, I went down to Boston on Saturday. Boston is a pretty city.. I went on one of the Trolley Tours which takes you around all the sites in the greater city area. The throw in all sorts of information such as ‘Did you know that Boston is built on 75% landfill?’. I made it to the bar which inspired the hit TV show ‘Cheers’ which had a great atmosphere – similar of that to an Australian Bar!

I have put a heap of Pics up in da gallery. On Sunday I went to New Hampshire which is North of Massachusetts. I went for a small hike and made it back to the car just as the weather started to crap out :-) I will put some pics up shortly..

Plodding Along :-)

Filed under: General — Chris Parker @ 01:46

Hey, the project here in mass is going along reasonably well. The weather this week did leave a lot to be desired with 3 days of light to heavy rain…

I am currently on the 2nd day of my 4 day weekend.. I have had the usual Friday off (cause we work 4 10’s) and Monday is Memorial Day!

I am looking to head into Boston today to have a look around. There is a train that goes in which saves driving in the hellish city traffic :-) I hope to get some pics so you should be privy to them in the Gallery :-)

Well, that’s pretty much it for now!

Out with the old

I am in the process of redesigning bahuma.net. Some changes are obvious already and more are on the way. Stay tuned for more updates.

Massachusetts

I have now been in Massachusetts for almost a week. I am on a UXO remediation job where my main role is data collection with an EM61. The site is at Devens, MA.

The site is fairly pretty with lots of trees and hills. We are surveying within the vegetation and on slopes which makes some areas fairly challenging.

The accomodation is pretty good. I have an apartment that I share which is in the town of Acton. Action is fairly small but it has the necessities. Acton is approx 35 miles from Boston, so I am looking forward to venturing to Boston on one of the weekends. There is a train that goes there from only a few miles away which will make it easy enough to get there.

Thats all for now, tata!

Its been a month!

Filed under: General, Work — Chris Parker @ 08:38

I don’t know where time has gone but I have been in the USA for a month already!!! Time seems to be flying by..

The last week or so has been pretty good. Work has been busy. It still looks like I am going to Devens, MA and then heading to Colorado in early June. This week will be filled with some air testing of instruments and training of operators on some of G-tek’s equipment.

Last weekend was good also. I went out for dinner at a pub and I met 3 people. They were sloshed by the time I got there and found my accent quite humerous :-) After many beers and shots I parted company and went to the hotel where I passed out on my bed :-)

Thats pretty much it… :-) TTFN
